3D PRINTING ADVANTAGES
More Design Freedom
3D printing has much more forgiving requirements for production. Design restraints associated with traditional manufacturing methods are practically eradicated.
Customise Your Parts
As we use 3D printing with no minimum order quantity you can fully customize each individual part for bespoke uses such as sizes, colours and logos.
Reduce Time to Market
By using our 3D printing service, parts and prototypes can be produced in a matter of hours. Product development is significantly reduced due to the speed of 3D printing compared to other traditional methods.
Reduce Risk and Save Money
3D printing test prototypes and parts before going into mass-production methods like injection moulding can lead to removing design errors which could have expensive tool modifications and delays to finalizing your product.
Fantastic Communication Tool
3D printing of a physical object offers no confusion to the designs intent. This improves communication and this is something drawings, images and videos cannot compete with.
SLA / DLP Resin
Stereolithography / Digital Light Processing
Resin 3D printing is perfect for aesthetics with smooth surfaces and very fine details.
High resolution and smooth surfaced printed parts.
Offers the best surface for additional finishes.
Ideal for small, detailed parts such as miniatures.
Produces great quality masters ready for casting.
SLA / DLP 3D printing is available in High Detail Resin, Castable Resin, Flexible Resin, Clear Resin and even High Temperature Resin.
Fused Deposition Modelling
FDM 3D printing is perfect for quick prototypes and can use a wide range of thermoplastic polymers.
The most cost-effective 3D printing process.
Fast turnaround time with no post-processing.
Huge range of material options.
Ideal for functional parts and models.
FDM 3D printing is available in PLA, PETG, ASA, Nylon, Flexible, Wood and many more specialist materials.
Choosing a 3D printing process can be complicated, but we are here to help. If you are unsure of which process would be suitable for your project, do not worry. Talk to us and we will advise and choose the best material and process for the job.
Both Resin and FDM processes has its limitations in terms of sizes and functionality for the application.
Please contact us to discuss your project, and we can advise on which process is more suitable.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does it cost?
Due to the complexity, printing times, sizes and materials we can only provide an accurate quotation based on the final 3D model files. We are happy to provide a rough estimate with only a few questions about the required parts.
How long does it take?
There are many factors that affect our lead times we can give you an estimated turnaround on discussion of your project. If you need something printed urgently we will do our very best to accommodate you.
What about Confidentiality and Intellectual Property?
At Lunia 3D, from first contact we treat all conversations and project ideas as confidential and no information is shared or discussed with a third party unless permission has been given by you - the client. Please see our Non-disclosure & Intellectual Property page for more information.
How durable are the printed parts?
Most finished parts are generally durable and can withstand everyday applications. However, we are conscious of parts not being suitable for your specific needs, we will advise the best material and process before production.
Can I 3D print something in colour?
We can provide printed parts in a range of colours. FDM can be printed with up to 5 colours in one part with our multi-material process. However, Resin printing is limited to a single colour per part.
Do you offer any post-processing finishes?
Yes we can provide post-processes such as sanding, bonding, assembly, electronics, priming and painting.
What is the largest size you can print up to?
With SLA / DLP Resin we can currently print up to 292mm x 165mm x 400mm and with FDM we can print up to 330mm x 330mm x 400mm. However, if you have a larger project in mind, we can easily print in multiple parts and join them together accurately.
What 3D model formats do you accept?
We use professional industry standard software and applications, so most formats are accepted. If you are unsure, please contact us.
